– Hanna and Kate were excellent at listening to my requirements and developing ideas with a professional and creative approach. I am thrilled with their design as it includes hand drawn elements from my paintings. It is a joy to use, I am now able to update it easily and more importantly visitors have an improved experience. –

The Brief:

Tunbridge Wells-based artist and illustrator, Lucy Clayton, had a website, but it was a little clunky, a wee bit temperamental, and difficult to navigate. When she contacted us, she was ready to give her existing website the boot and wanted to start fresh with a sophisticated and sleek digital home-sweet-home and a brand identity that put her artistry front-and-centre.

What we did:

We fell for Lucy and her work as soon as we met her. After we took turns selecting prints for ourselves (her suggestive Sweet Potato looks amazing above Hanna's dining table), we got down to business and worked closely with her to develop a brand identity that complements her work and immediately communicates what she does. Each element is derived from her very own brushstrokes, ink marks, and paint splatters and the colours are based on her favourite original works.

The website we designed for her is simple to navigate and makes her work the star of the show. Through our conversations, we learned what kind of work Lucy most loves to create and how she'd like to grow her businesses and we thoughtfully designed the site to encourage visitors to engage with the offerings that fit within how she plans to move forward professionally, whilst still giving them a taste of what she's done in the past.

The outcome:

Lucy's new digital home is elegant, simple to use, and allows her art to truly shine and tell her story. The site is integrated with Mailchimp so she's able to stay in touch with site visitors and customers, and an embedded instaram feed gives visitors a peek into her day-to-day life as a working artist.
